Purpose

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") defines the acceptable and prohibited uses of the CrankBench platform. By using CrankBench, you agree to comply with this policy.

Violation of this policy may result in suspension or termination of your account.


Permitted Use

CrankBench is designed exclusively for:

  • Bicycle repair shop management — tracking repairs, managing customers, handling inventory
  • Business operations — team management, invoicing, reporting
  • Customer service — communicating repair status, sending notifications

You may only use CrankBench for lawful purposes related to operating a bicycle repair business or similar service business.


Prohibited Activities

You may not use CrankBench to:

Illegal Activities

  • Conduct any illegal activities under Slovenian, EU, or international law
  • Facilitate fraud, money laundering, or financial crimes
  • Store or process data related to illegal transactions
  • Violate export control regulations

Harmful Content

  • Upload, store, or transmit malicious software (viruses, malware, ransomware)
  • Store illegal, obscene, defamatory, or discriminatory content
  • Distribute spam or unsolicited communications
  • Host phishing content or fraudulent schemes

Security Violations

  • Attempt to access accounts or data without authorization
  • Interfere with or disrupt the platform's security measures
  • Probe, scan, or test system vulnerabilities without permission
  • Circumvent access restrictions or authentication systems
  • Share your login credentials with unauthorized users

System Abuse

  • Overload the platform with excessive requests or data
  • Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) without authorization
  • Attempt to reverse engineer or copy the platform
  • Resell or redistribute access to CrankBench
  • Use the service to compete with CrankBench

Misrepresentation

  • Impersonate another person or organization
  • Provide false information during registration
  • Misrepresent your affiliation with any entity
  • Create multiple accounts to circumvent restrictions

Data Responsibilities

When entering customer and business data into CrankBench, you must:

Lawful Collection

  • Ensure you have a lawful basis to collect and store personal data
  • Obtain necessary consents from your customers
  • Comply with GDPR and applicable privacy laws

Data Accuracy

  • Enter accurate and up-to-date information
  • Correct inaccuracies promptly when identified
  • Delete data when no longer needed or upon customer request

Data Security

  • Use strong passwords for your account
  • Enable two-factor authentication when available
  • Not share login credentials with unauthorized individuals
  • Report suspected security incidents immediately

Customer Rights

  • Honor your customers' data protection rights (access, correction, deletion)
  • Respond to customer inquiries about their data
  • You are the data controller for customer data you enter

API and Integration Usage

If you use CrankBench APIs or integrations:

  • Comply with published API documentation and rate limits
  • Do not attempt to circumvent technical restrictions
  • Report any discovered vulnerabilities responsibly
  • Do not use APIs to extract data for competitive purposes

Reporting Violations

If you become aware of any violation of this policy:

  • Include details of the suspected violation
  • Provide any relevant evidence or screenshots

We investigate all reports and take appropriate action.


Enforcement

Investigation

We may investigate suspected violations and may access your account data to do so.

Consequences

Violations may result in:

  • Warning and request to cease the activity
  • Temporary suspension of account access
  • Permanent termination of your account
  • Reporting to law enforcement if required

Appeals

If you believe enforcement action was taken in error:

  • Provide explanation and supporting information
  • We will review and respond within 14 business days

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Acceptable Use Policy as needed. Material changes will be communicated via:

  • Email notification
  • Notice within the platform
  • Updated "Last Updated" date

Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
